Terms of Service

By accessing or using Selah (the "Service"), operated by Selah Space App LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Selah," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

Selah is a web app (which you can add to your phone's home screen) offering Scripture-grounded reflections, written prayers, and gentle questions in response to what you share, generated with the help of AI. Selah also lets you save content to "Kept Close," journal, set reminders, and share Scripture cards.

Selah offers comfort, reflection, and Scripture. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, psychological, or pastoral counseling, and it is not monitored by a person in real time. If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, call or text 988 in the United States (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or contact a licensed professional or your local emergency services, rather than relying on Selah.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region) to use Selah. If you are under 18, you may use Selah only with the permission of a parent or guardian. You must be 18 or older to purchase a subscription or to use our SMS service.

You sign in to Selah using the sign-in method we offer, such as Google sign-in or an emailed sign-in link. You are responsible for keeping access to that account and email secure, and for all activity under your Selah account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@selahspaceapp.com. We may suspend or disable access when needed to protect the Service, comply with law, or address misuse.

You agree to use Selah lawfully and respectfully. You may:

• Share what you are carrying and receive your reflection, prayer, and Scripture
• Save items to Kept Close and journal
• Manage your reminder and notification preferences
• Share a Scripture card, where that feature is available

You agree not to:

• Use Selah for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use Selah to store or transmit malicious code or content
• Interfere with the security, availability, or integrity of the Service, or circumvent usage limits or access controls
• Misrepresent your identity or submit content you do not have the rights to provide

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

• Beta. Selah is currently free during our beta period. Features identified as beta or preview are provided as-is, may change or be withdrawn, and may be limited.
• Paid plans. When paid plans are available, the price, billing period, and any free trial will be shown to you before you are charged. Subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically at the then-current price unless canceled before renewal.
• Free trials. If a free trial is offered, your paid subscription begins when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
• Promo codes. Coupon or promo codes may provide free or discounted access under the terms specified when issued.
• Price changes. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Taxes. Prices exclude any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

You may cancel at any time through account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.

You retain ownership of the content you submit, including journal entries, saved prayers, and anything you type into Selah. You grant Selah a limited license to store, process, and display that content back to you as part of providing the Service, including sending it to our AI service providers to generate your session. We will never sell your content, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

Reflections, prayers, and Scripture selections are generated with the help of AI, configured to draw from Scripture. While we have built in safeguards, AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or fail to reflect your intent. Selah is a devotional and reflective tool, not a theological or scholarly authority. Please use your own discernment and test what you read against Scripture.

The Selah name, logo, design, and app (excluding your own content and the Scripture text itself) are owned by Selah Space App LLC or its licensors. Scripture quotations are taken from their respective Bible translations and remain the property of their publishers. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You may not use Selah's name or marks without prior written permission.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or obligation to you.

If you opt in, Selah may send you text messages, which may include informational messages (like reminders) and, if you have separately opted in, promotional messages. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using Selah. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance.

You must be 18 years of age or older to use this SMS service.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and Selah is not responsible for delivery delays or failures caused by your carrier or device. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Selah relies on third-party services (such as sign-in providers, payment processing, hosting, and AI model providers). We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

Selah is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free functionality, or that AI-generated reflections will always be accurate or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Selah Space App LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Selah, the SMS program, or any linked third-party services.

Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of fifty U.S. dollars ($50) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

You agree to indemnify and hold Selah Space App LLC, its officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your misuse of Selah, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

Either party may end this agreement at any time; you may close your account by contacting hello@selahspaceapp.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited use, or if continued use poses a risk to the Service or other users. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before termination, except in cases of serious misuse. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Travis County, Texas, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, business practices, or legal requirements. We will update the dates above when we do; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with changes, stop using Selah and contact us to close your account.

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Selah regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
